In this procedure The "Flap" is created by an instrument similar to LASIK. A corneal ring is placed centering the cornea and gentle suction is applied to steady the eye. The instrument called "Epithelium separator" is engaged to the ring. An oscillating plastic "separator" separates a circular hinged epithelial tissue like in LASIK. The next steps are similar to the LASIK procedure.
